Dozens of businesses in Ferguson were looted, damaged or destroyed in the riots that followed a grand jury's decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed Michael Brown in August. The majority of those businesses, most of them on West Florissant Avenue — located near the apartments where Brown was shot and the site of the August protests — were owned by locals who seemingly to lost everything. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says the Cleveland police department uses "excessive force," and that its officers are "poorly trained and reckless," findings described in a Department of Justice report released Thursday The report comes at the end of an investigation that began in March 2013 to determine if the officers were engaged in a pattern and practice of excessive force.
